Lantern Making Workshops

The workshop in question is a very exciting opportunity to work with renowned visual artist and sculptor Tom Meskell.

Tom has been developing an intricate style of work and installation for over 14 years and his work has been seen across Ireland and beyond. He will also have a co-facilitator, Tommy Casby, who is a well renowned artist and workshop facilitator in his own right.

For this project we will be making life-sized human figures and animals which will be used later as props in a performance. Members will be split into two workshop groups to create these sculptures out of wire and tissue. At the end of the two days the sculptures will have lights inside and be ready for display. This workshop will be further built upon during our other Cruinniú na nÓg collaboration which takes places June 11th.
