Actively learn by doing!

Roscommon County Youth Theatre runs weekly workshops covering all aspects of theatre training along with other events throughout the year. Our ethos is to actively learn by doing. By doing so our members discover things about themselves and others and form a strong bond which encourages peer learning and support. We believe in challenging our members, expanding their exposure to various styles of theatre and writing.

The methods and codes of practice of RCYT are based on the concepts of opportunity, empowerment, access and artistic excellence. Members are provided with a programme of the highest quality workshops and training which as well as being of immense benefit in the development of self-awareness and confidence are the basis for any young person who wishes to pursue a career in Drama, Film or any of the performing arts

Theatre Trips

While working with professional actors and directors, you will also get the opportunity to go to see high quality shows across the country and meet other young people interested in theatre and performance. Trips have taken us to The Abbey, The Peacock, The Hawkswell, The Axis, Project Arts Centre, Town Hall Theatre, Backstage & Roscommon Arts Centre. To coincide with productions we try to organise meet & greets, chat backs and workshops with actors and directors of productions we go to see.
